Meaning of entry on service record, help please

Living History

My Dad’s service record has an entry dated 28.10.45 as follows

2HB 36 Coy; CTBA on returning to unit from LILOPBAOR.

I understand the meaning to be ceased to be attached on returning to unit from leave in lieu of PYTHON.

Dad served with the 36 Coy from February 44 to discharge in September 46. There is nothing on his service record about return to UK between embarkation for Normandy in June 44 and return home May 46 from the Rhine. There is no record of him being SOS from the 36 Coy.

If LILOP is home leave how long would this have been for and is there a difference between being ceased to be attached to a company and being SOS – any ideas as to where he may have served if not attached to his company.

War diary has many entries regarding PYTHON and LILOP but nothing specific about men not being reattached afterwards.

Finally anyone help with what 2HB stands for.

Thank you Brian

Any ideas as to N
