Living History

I am trying to trace where my late uncle was based in India in 1944 and in what squadron. He was in the RAF VR 151 Squadron in the UK when his tour of operations finished as a Mosquito pilot, with W/O G Kelsey as observer (sadly passed on last week at 92), and he was then posted to India as a test pilot on May 28th 1944.

The only other facts I know is he crashed in a Mosquito that went up in flames on September 10th 1944, probably from the glue/dope problems that afflicted these aircraft in the heat, and just shortly afterwards they were all grounded I believe.

He is buried in Delhi War Cemetery in grave 7.B.7.

His home village was Ormesby St Michael in Norfolk, and he was married in 1943 to Phyllis (nee Humphrey)

In the wild eventuality that someone can help I would be very grateful, as my request for a full service record from Cranwell is likely to take at least 6 months, and even then I do not know if what I am trying to find out will be told.
